This year Music Biennale Zagreb celebrates its 30th anniversary. Composition “Construction 5.1” has been ordered by 30th Music Biennale Zagreb especially for Zagreb Saxophone Quartet featuring American saxophone icon Jon Irabagon on Mezzo Soprano and Soprillo saxophone. Synthesis of written and improvised music, which makes the main subject of this composition, has been approached through several aspects of music: notation (traditional, graphic and hybrid notation), contemporary composition techniques (fragment, object, moment and excerpt), extended saxophone techniques and 30 years of authors experience as a performer of improvised music. Concert The harmony of dissonance was born as a result of artistic research and new study programs and programs at the Music Academy.
