Chriss Jarret & Abstract Construction Collective  @ MBZ 2017

On April 24th 2017 Chriss Jarret, one of the greatest pianists of our time, will perform with Croatian Abstract Construction Collective in the Blagoje Bersa hall of the Music Academy in Zagreb. Abstract Construction Collective consists of some of the most distinguished Croatian jazz musicians: Saša Nestorović (tenor saxophone), Luka Žužić (trombone), Pavle Jovanović (guitar), Ivar Roban Križić (double bass), Krunoslav Levačić (drums) & Zoran Šćekić (modified slide guitar). miCROfest is an international festival of microtonal music that will be held on 28 October 2016 at the Music Academy in Zagreb.  The festival aims to create an opportunity for the public to encounter microtonal music, microtonal instruments and theories of microtonal music. The Big Band And The Vocals have had its final of their large European Composers Competition with a Theme: Music to the rhymes of famous Danish poet Ursula Andkjær Olsen on 20 of June 2016. After receiving two dozen of pieces for this year competition, the finalists were: ZORAN ŠĆEKIĆ, Croatia – composer & arranger, with a composition: Sphinx Avenue TOMAS HAINES, UK – composer &musician, with a composition: Strange Utopia MICHELE CORCELLA, Italy – composer & arranger, with a composition: More and More Nameless ALEXANDER HAGEL THORN, Denmark – saxophone player, composer & arranger, with a composition: Navnløs. The 3rd Annual European Bigband Composer Competition holds its final at June 20th 2016 in Copenhagen. The Big Band And The Vocals have the four finalists in their large European Composers Competition with a theme: Music to the words of Ursula Andkjær Olsen (famous Danish poet). Finalists will have a two-day rehearsals with The BigBand & The Vocals before the finals concert. The Brave New World startups creation program is the region’s biggest startup event uniting developers, engineers, makers, hackers, designers, and beyond.
